Signal appendages basically subordinate main signals, and are established to supplement the conditions to be signaled.
Applications of signal appendages are as follows.
Route indicators When home signals, departure signals or shunting signals are shared for 2 or more routes, route indicators show the route for the train or cars, subordinating those signals.

Preliminary route indicator Preliminary route indicator forecasts the train route indicated by the next home signal or departure signal, subordinating home signal, departure signal, blocking signal, distant signal, or repeating signal.
